God has lifted the Spirit of ,Ichabob off the church. God wants to raise the church from the dead. God wants the church to, come alive.
But the church is in rebellion.
Rebellion means: open resistance to authority, esp. organized armed resistance to and esp. organized armed resistance to anestablished government.
Why are we disobedient to the Word oof God?
Rebellious means: tending to rebel, insubordinate, in rebellion, defying lawful authority, unmanageable.
We often wonder why we don't get blessed, it is because we do the opposite of of God wants. God says stand, we sit. God says pray for them we talk to them. We fight God because we know what they need editing God knows. We are with them all the time.
Verse 7- Remember, and forget not, I'll thou provokedst the Lord my God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the Lord.
Verse 8- Also in Horeb ye provoked the Lord to wrath, so that the Lord was angry with you to have destroy you.
1 Samuel 15:22-23.
And Samuel said, hath the Lord has great the light in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken then the fat of rams.
Verse 23- For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord,, he has also rejected thee from being King.
Here we see that Samuel exposes the sin of disobedience which resulted in Saul being rejected as King over Israel.
God commanded Saul to fight against the enemies, the Amalekites, in totally annihilate them and destroy all the bad including the women and children and all their livestock.
When Samuel approached Saul, he tried to cover his sin by blaming the people.
In the Scriptures, we see the seriousness of disobedience, and is consequences, because of Saul's disobedience, God rejected him as King.
Disobedience is rebellion, and God considers it as evil as the sin of witchcraft. (1 Samuel 15:23).
God spoke through Isaiah, To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me ( unless they are the offering of the heart)? Says the Lord; I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams, and a fat of fed beasts ( without obedience), and I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of he goats ( without righteousness).( Isaiah 1:11).
Therefore house of Israel, I will judge you, each according to his ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.
Verse 31- Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die house of Israel?
Verse 32- For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord.
Repent and live!
