This group is for Preachers (only), and about Preachers.

What I am calling a Preacher is people of the 5 Fold Ministry (Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers).

Now there is a difference in Teachers, one is a regular teacher, the other is a teaching Preacher (these are more calm in delivering their messages, unlike other Preachers that get loud, shout, and run the Church isles, etc.).

This group is about teaching, preparing, equipping, and supporting Preachers.

When joining, Please introduce yourself. Tell us what kind of Preacher you are, and if possible a little about your Ministry (some peoples Ministries are not always a cut and dry Ministry and is hard to explain). The type of Church you go to (so can better understand your doctrinal view points)

I am a non-denominationalist, I was raised in the Freewill Baptist, but I later became a Pentecostal. But I hold to no Denomination. I do not believe in Denominations, if you do that is fine, but I do not.

Preachers should be able to Preach when ever and where ever they are, regardless of what type of Church they are in. The Apostle Paul taught that he was all things to all people.  1 Corinthians 9:13-23

  • Closer Walk Bible Study is a weekly Teleconference Bible Study Call on Wednesday’s at 7:00 A.M. EST (US Time). Everyone is invited to join in.

    (218) 895-3991 and the pin is 2015#

The next Conference call will be 1/18/16. Last week we had the most powerful call to date, we are looking for the same or greater this week.
  • I am back, I have had some major financial and health issues I have had to deal with. But God has Blessed and now I am looking to resume, doing the best i can to build this group, but I cannot do it without your help.

I do not want to be the only one doing the teaching. and coming up with discussion topics. please share what you can, when you can.

I have some interesting news (I hope you find it interesting). to share with you.

God told/lead me to start an over the phone Bible Study Conference call back in October. We had our 1st Bible Study 10/26/16 on Wednesday morning at 7:00 am EST. We had one each week since then.

While I may be the one hosting the call, it is not about me. Yes I have done all but one of the lessons, so far. It is about God, and everyone on the call. Eventually, I Pray we will have more speakers/teachers.

I am not some big name Preacher, more than likely, I never will. I have not been to Bible College or Seminary. I am simply a Country Evangelist, trying to worship and serve the Lord to the best of my ability, doing what God has told me to do.

Each call is recorded. And we do have special email account that people can send in Prayer requests, request copies of the recording and when possible the lesson notes. We even have a free (make shift) website for the Bible Study. http://closerwalkbiblestudy.my-free.website - it is still a work in progress.

God is really Blessing, we are small in number, but the Spirit of God is certainly in the midst. We have some awesome comment and discussions after the lesson of the day.

We are Praying that the Bible Study will continue to grow, for the Glory of God.

I am excited about the next 4-or 5 weeks at least. With what God has showed me and given to me, I am sooo excited I cannot stand it. Those that miss out on this, is really going to miss out BIG TIME!!!! – I have no idea what God is going to do with what He has given to me, but I cannot wait to find out.

I desire your Prayers for this Bible Study Tele-Conference. It is growing; the Spirit of God is strong in the lessons and the discussion afterward.

2016 will soon be gone and we will have to face the challenges of a new year, and to receive the Blessings that the coming year holds for us.

With that, I would like for you to Pray for the Bible Study to continue to grow. About 4 years ago I was introduced to Teleconferencing, and to doing Bible Studies over the phone, WHAT AN AMAZING BLESSING!!!

We had the Bible Studies daily, at 12 p.m. (noon) E.S.T. Monday through Friday. I hope we can build it up to that point again, as soon as possible. However, I am not Foolish enough to believe I can do it alone, and I do not want to do it alone.

I am Praying God will send other Spirit filled Preachers/Teachers to help with doing the Bible Studies, on a regular basis.
  • It is an honor to be part of this group. God bless each of you In Jesus Name
  • I now only work full time for my Lord because I am retired and most everything I do is essentially for Him. Even before I retired I spent thirteen years managing a Christian organisation that supported, and monitored offenders, and that was certainly of the Lord. Of late most of my preaching has been in support of the acceptance of Genesis One as a literal explanation of our origins. You know, one thing I have found that many preachers have lost their passion, it's very sad when it sounds is if they are reading a script.
    • Preachers that have lost their passion are suffering from burn out, simply because they think the work they are doing is not accomplishing very much good. Truth be told, they are right. Our people are lazy, they do not appreciate anything. They do not want to do anything. They want all the goodies, but not willing to work for them. Soooo many time I have heard, "Let the Preacher (Pastor) do it. The preachers cannot do it all. We have to have help, but most people do not understand that. Plus most people are not willing to Study their Bibles, very few hardly Pray between services, but then they expect God to pour out His Blessings, for What? Nothing? It does not work that way.

So I understand why preachers are suffering from burn out. But regardless, we still have a job to do. And that is to Preach the Word, till the day we die.
    • IF A PASTOR HAS NOT OR HAS LOST THE CONFIDENCE OF HIS/HER CONGREGATION, I MIGHT AGREE WITH A PASTOR FEELING STRESSED [N THE MNISTRY. BUT, I WILL ASK, WHO IS IT THAT CALLS, CHOOSES, AND SENDS ONE INTO THE CHRISTIAN MINISTRY? ARE WE, OR ARE WE NOT THE SERVANTS OF CHRIST JESUS? IF WE ARE THE SERVANTS OF CHRST; IF WE ARE CALLED BY THE FATHER, CHOSEN BY CHRIST, AND SENT BY THE HOLY SPIRIT THEN, WE SHOULD NEVER WORRY ABOUT WHO IS WITH US, NEITHER TO WORRY ABOUT WHO SHALL HELP US. JESUS NEVER PROMISED HIS MINISTERS A LIFE WITHOUT MISERY OR SUFFERING. REMEMBER, JESUS DID TEACH THE APOSTLES THAT THEY WOULD DRINK THE CUP OF SUFFERNG AS HE (JESUS) HAD TO. JESUS ALSO TAUGHT THE APOSTLES, 'YE SHALL HAVE AFFLICTIONS'. PERSONALLY, AS A MINISTER OF CHRIST, I HAVE HAD MY SHARE OF SUFFERNGS AND AFFLICTONS OF MINISTERNG TO OTHERS FOR CHRIST. I HAVE HAD CLOSE FAMILY MEMBERS TO SAY TO ME, 'I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR YOUR NTERPRETATION OF THE BIBLE'. PRESENTLY, I AM LOSING MY SIGHT DUE TO AN INCURABLE IRREVERSIBLE PROGRESSIVE DETERIORATING EYE DISEASE THAT SHALL RESULT IN PERMANENT BLINDNESS VERY SOON. BUT, WITH ALL OF THIS; IF I HAD TO DO IT OVER AGAIN; FOR CHRIST'S SAKE, I WOULD NOT CHANGE ANY OF IT AT ALL. AS A CHRISTIAN, AS A MINISTER-SERVANT OF CHRIST; MY ANSWER ALWAYS TO CHRIST SHALL ALWAYS BE 'YES, LORD'. NO MATTER HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO BE A MINISTER AND A SERVANT FOR CHRIST, I SHALL ALWAYS BE FULL OF JOY TO SERVE CHRIST THROUGH ALL THE DIFFICULTIES OF BEING A MINISTER-SERVANT OF JESUS WHO HAS SAVED ME FROM SIN AND JUDGMENT. IF ONE CANNOT HANDLE THE DIFFICULTIES OF THE MINISTRY, I WOULD QUESTION, 'WAS IT CHRIST CALLING YOU INTO THE MINISTRY OR, WAS IT YOUR PERSONAL DESIIRE TO BE A MINISTER'? A MINISTER-SERVANT OF CHRIST JESUS GLADLY WITH REJOICING SUFFERS IN MINISTRY FOR CHRIST! APOSTLE PAUL WAS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF MINISTERING FOR CHRIST WITH HAVING MUCH AFFLICTIONS, WITH SICKNESSES, BEING BEATEN, SHIPWRECKED, IN PRISON, ABANDON BY FELLOW MINISTERS, ALONE AND EXPERIENCING LONLINESS - ALL FOR THE SAKE OF BEING A FAITHFULL MINISTER SERVING CHRIST JESUS. EVEN WITH MY ONCOMING BLINDNESS SHALL I GLADLY AND FAITHFULLY SERVE CHRIST IN MINISTRY, LOOKING FOR THAT DAY TO HEAR CHRIST SAY 'WELL DONE, THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT, ENTER THOU INTO THE JOY OF THE LORD'.
  • Brother James; this is a great idea, having a group just for all the Brothers and Sisters on this site who work for the Lord full time, so to say. We can come here to discuss the issues that tend to come up with us that are distinct from those who haven't had the calling. I plan to follow this, and contribute some discussions I can already think of writing up, like Preacher burn-out, Financial challenges, setting and keeping boundaries with others (something I believe we tend to have difficulties with), etc. Thank You for starting This!
