In this group, I would like to see kinder words, words of wisdom and knowledge about the Bible and more! Also, a discussion about the "Great Commission" and it's workers! How evangelism got started, and more. What we think and how we think are important for this group and the future of this group. We can talk, listen, share ideas, share comments, discuss.

The future for much discussion is bright and wise! Here we can talk more about the topic at hand, I can learn, teach, give ideas, listen, open my eyes and understand much!

  • Hello,

Just wanted to say hello and let you know that you have a new member. I'm a bit shy about sharing my faith with others, but I know that we are commanded to 'go and preach the Gospel to every nation...' My family and I are looking for ways to be more vocal in our witness and to be soul-minded when we meet new people. I joined this group as a means to hold myself more accountable to being a witness for my Lord and to request prayer for myself to be a better soul-winner and for those around me, that they will be saved if they aren't. Thank you and may God bless us with His power that we may be witnesses to our Jerusalem, our Judea, our Samaria and to the uttermost part of the earth.
  • This group does not seem to have the fire that Jesus has commanded us to have when it comes to discussions about the Great Commission. The fire seems to have been quenched rather quickly. I cannot help but be reminded of an old Keith Green song titled, "Jesus Commands Us to Go" where he sings about how God's children are too busy at play instead of keeping the fire going. It is a very influential song and for Christians who actually have a heart for reaching out to the lost it can feel quite emotional when you listen to it as well. Many of us are guilty of disobeying this command. Jesus knew it would not be an easy one to keep and so He left it for last so that His disciples could not complain after realizing how difficult it could truly be. Whenever I reach a time in my life when I just want to give up for a while at spreading His command I play this song by Keith Green, and I find myself singing along with it, sometimes in tears of guilt by the end of it. The lyrics are below:

    Jesus commands us to go
But we go the other way
So He carries the burden alone
While His children are busy at play
    Feeling so called to stay

Oh, how God grieves and believes
That the world can't be saved unless the ones He's appointed obeys
His command and His stand for the world
That He loved more than life, oh He died, and He cries out tonight

    Jesus commands us to go
It should be the exception if we stay
It's no wonder we're moving so slow
When His church refuse to obey
    Feeling so called to stay

Oh how God comes as He starts the great judgment of fire
So He can gain, His greatest desire
'Cause He knows that the souls of the lost
They can only be reached through us, we're His hands and His feet

    Jesus commands us to go
It should be the exception if we stay
It's no wonder we're moving so slow
When God's children refuse to obey
    Feeling so called to stay

  • "To Hear, Submit, Obey, and Surrender"
    ** James 1:19; Hebrews 13:17 **
You have to Hear, to know what you are to do. You then must Submit to what you are to do, by hearing. By your 'Choice/Decision to Submit (fully), you then Obey. When you Obey, you then Submit, Submit to Obey, Obey to Hear, Hear to do!!!
    • When I read this, what comes out is that these are all action words, verbs. In other words, you need to ACT. We can think and pray all day long, but there comes a point where it's time to put the pedal to the metal and get the job done.
  • Depend on it, God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supplies. If you are willing and obedient; you will eat the best from the land. Isaiah 1:19
  • It's not how many hours you put in but how much you put into the hours. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men...It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24 NIV
