Tell Us About Yourself
I'm a retired Mechanical Engineer, very computer literate and I've been a Christian since 1984. After searching for a GOOD Church since I became a Christian, I've finally found it! I'm now a member of a lovely Bible believing Fellowship in The Bible Baptist Church. We don't have a 'huge' congregation, just about thirty of us who sing all the old praises and soak in all our pastor John McLennan teaches. He's a very gifted man of God. Our fellowship has people from all over the world, all gathered together singing Gods praises and believing His Word.
In 1984 I was arrested and held for trial on t he charges of 'attempted murder',' breach of the explosive substances act' and everything else they could throw at me. My 'QC' (Queens Council) advised me that I was facing either a life term or HMP (Her majesty's pleasure). After being in prison for nearly a year, I finally got my 'day in court' and things were looking very grim for me indeed. The pressure was really getting to me and thoughts of suicide were forever on my mind as I knew I wouldn't be able to face a life sentence or 'longer'. On the night before my trial was to begin I was alone in my cell and I got on my knees and prayed 'Lord God, if you do exist, please give me the help I need to face whatever happens to me and not kill myself'. At that exact minute, I was surrounded with a warmth and light, really strange but lovely all the same and deep inside my head the word 'WATCH' became very clear. All through my trial, which lasted almost three weeks this word 'watch' became almost visible, every day! The only witnesses against me were policemen and my QC made them look ridiculous as their testimonies were identical in every respect? No other witnesses were ever called? Then there was some commotion and Lord Cowan (the presiding Judge and as I found out later, a Born Again Christian) banged his gavel and ordered both QC's to approach the bench? My solicitor told me that ALL the evidence held against me had vanished, as had the other witnesses! That was the final straw, as far as Lord Cowan was concerned, he talked for a few minutes to Both QC's and turned to me and said 'Mr OConnor I apologise for the time you have unnecessarily spent in prison, your are now free to go' I almost fainted and the policeman 'guarding' me had to catch me as I was going down. I knew I had been touched by God and things had to change, they did! I've been a KJV Bible believing Christian to this very day and I await my Lods return SOON. God bless you all
