"Hello.  My name is Steve and I work for the Lord. My goal for this group is to have people joyfully post Bible verses they like and then we can possibly discuss and study that verse. Each verse posted could be a small study in itself.  I think feedback is important.  Remember iron sharpens Iron.  We all differ but we all love the lord and his word." Feel free to join and share."

  • Consider the Lilies of the field....Matthew 6:28
  • "All wisdom comes from the Lord and is with him for ever. The sand of the sea, the drops of rain, and the days of eternity-who can count them?"---Book of Sirach 1:1-2 (note: from the Apocrypha, called the 2nd Canon by Catholic Church, also considered inspired by the Eastern Orthodox church)...
  • I have often thought of Jeremiah 29:11as a reassuring and hopeful verse; "For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope" (NASB) One of my daughters gifted me with a new Bible case on my most recent birthday with this verse printed on the cover so I now see it every time I open my Bible. This has resulted in me reflecting more deeply on this verse. I want to relay here the assurance it reinforces in me daily. God blesses us abundantly all of the time if we look to Him, and often when we don't. God bless. Scott
    • Thanks Scott. Jeremiah has been a favorite of mine, his personality and emotions come out in both his main book and 'Lamentations'. It was God's will that this verse was embossed for you to receive and then remind us all with its message.
  • HI Pastor Steve! :-) The one verse other than John 3:16 "For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS only begotten son" that I truly love the best was my mom's favorite verse and during my boughts with depression it is one she would repeat to me every time she talked to me and that one is: Psalms 118:24 "This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it." To me, between those 2 verses, they make me feel humbled because I think there are times with the depression that I am spending too much time thinking me, me, me. That shouldn't be how I should be thinking. I should always be thinking of others and how I might help or serve them. It gets hard to do sometimes though. It's part of being human I guess.
    • Each new day is a new start and we should accomplish good things each and every day. This helps us to drive away sadness. Praise the lord. It is interesting to note that the word "rejoice"as used in this text is Strongs #1523 "gyl" and implies a spinning around in joy. It shows how the Hebrew thinking was more concrete in outlook. Have you ever had a dog excited and sort of spinning around when you are about to take him for a walk? That dog was rejoicing...spinning with joy.
  • And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2
  • I really do not know how we could ever have, or restrict it to, 100 verses. Some we personally like and have verses that speak to us more than others, but would it not be more accurate to say the top 100,000 verses?

    Well here's my ten-cents worth, it's Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
  • Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgement, but has passed from death to life. John 5:24
  • "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33
