  • Thank you Dr. Blake (as a cartoonist, I always smile talking to doctors... "Thanks Doc" "Hi Doc" Of course you know I'm going to call you "Doc" from now on! But I'll refrain from asking what's up.)

    And Thank you Pastor Anderson.

A few questions. The comments I'm writing here... Are they public? Or just to who my "friends" are in this network? If I wanted to ask one of you a question directly, is there a DM for that?

I'll check out the site and groups. But I still have questions. Being a cartoonist, I have cartoons to share. Would I post cartoons directly? Is there a file size limit? I can't link to photos on my blog or Instagram, correct? (No URL links.) Is there a moderator I can float posts past first? (So I don't break the rules before I even get started!)

I have a bunch of cartoons. Just yesterday I've read a great article about Christianity "being cool" in Hollywood thanks to Chris Pratt and others. (Although I'm still mad at him for messing up Spiderman almost removing Thanos's Infinity Gauntlet!) But no URL links? Would I copy the text? Would I sum up what I read with my opinion?

In investigating reaching outside of my immediate community to talk to Christians, talk about Christ and the Gospel, I've tried a Christian REDDIT thread. Reddit is not really a good place for photos or URL links. (Although they have them.) It's best for questions and opinions. Sort of the comments section of the entire internet. There were lots of Atheists in that thread posing as Christians bent on causing trouble. I've looked into Christian Facebook groups. They were a dumping ground of photos and URL links that I believe 95% were never looked at. (I contemplated posting a cartoon that misspelt Jesus just to see if anyone was paying attention!) I tried joining GodTube, but my email and account was never approved. Twitter is great if I were to ARGUE with you, Doc or Pastor. Pinterst is not for social commentary.

I eventually found this site. I'm hopeful, and curious. I certainly do not want to "break" my welcome with some cartoons, URLs and stuff that's not meant to be here!

I hope I've not taken too much of your time.

Now... to find the Artists & Crafters (and cartoonists!) section.

    Thanks Doc! :)
    And Thank you Pastor.

  • Greetings in the Lord's name Dave, welcome to Christians Like Me, good to have you with us. We are a group of Christians that fellowship together and share the good and the bad, joys and trials, of being a Christian. We have been blessed by God because we believe the literal sense of His divine word and we try to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, we are God's people and CLM is God's site.. There are some great ways to get involved; in the BLOGS section, you will find a huge number of articles, here you can get a flavour of the site and add your own thoughts or blogs, should you so wish, or go into the FORUM where there are hundreds of live discussions open to you, discussion helps us learn. The GROUPS area contains many groups on a wide range of subjects, from hobbies to fun and to many more serious subjects. I noticed that you draw cartoons Dave, so I thought you may be interested in one of our groups,'Christian Artists & Crafters', which already has a page for cartoons, maybe you'd enjoy being a member?  I look forward to reading more about you very soon. Hope you enjoy the site and have some fun with us; every blessing.

  • Hello, my Brother in Christ, Welcome to Christians Like Me, a web based community of committed Christians who come here to share their faith in Jesus Christ, support each other emotionally, Learn from each other, and have some fun! May I have you first review the top of the main Home page, where you will find a Newcomers Guide, which will help with navigating this large site. Next to that are some suggestions for getting involved here. Below that are some guidelines for using the site, and some simple rules to help us all get along here. Please be sure to read the rules and go along with them, especially the "NO WEBLINKS" rule- we don't allow weblinks of any sort except in the resources group, violating this can get you removed from membership. Last, but not least, is a Paypal link where if you want to support the site, you can voluntarily and occasionally donate some money for it's server costs. Aside from these donations, the costs are completely covered by a very giving and generous webmaster, Cary Byrd. Lets help him out, if we can, here. I join all the other members here in praying you fit in well, and find a home here with all of us! And, remember, if you have a question or need anything, I'm here to help. Just send me a message! My Co-Administrator is Dr Derek Blake who's also always willing to help.
