Tell Us About Yourself
I am a widow, a mother and a grandmother. I am a published author of a children's book. I attend a wonderful Christ-centered church in Cave Creek, Arizona. I love my family and I love my friends. I enjoy hiking along the Arizona desert trails and hiking up the mountains. I enjoy taking walks with my beautiful German Shepherd, Maddie. I love to read Christian novels, suspense and edge of your seat thrillers by Frank Peritti, James Rubart, Ted Dekker, and Jerry Jenkins...Christian mysteries, Christian romance, especially Karen Kingsbury, and anything uplifting by Beth Moore. Besides being a children's author, I also write poetry and I am working on an end times novel...I also love to take pictures especially pictures of the sky, clouds, and mountains. God's handiwork is on display, and I stand in awe and wonder at His creation.
I got saved at the age of 16, but I have believed in Jesus for as long as I can remember. At the age of sixteen, though, I have to admit, I was a bit self righteous. I witnessed to everyone I came in contact with, especially my step-father, and I had a tendency to be judgmental with him. With maturity, I understood that the way to win others to Christ was through love and prayer. Anyway...God has brought me through many a storm in my life. He has led me down winding, twisting roads straightening the paths along the way. Sometimes I missed my step, but He always guided me back to the trail He had picked out for me. The paths I have traveled on were not of my choosing. I would not have chosen to get divorced at the age of 33, but God was with me throughout this trial. Ten years later I remarried, only to become a widow at the age of 57, also not of my choosing. I had three miscarriages, losing three precious babies...not of my choosing...But God was with me in every circumstance. He knows the plans He has for me. Plans for good and not for evil. Plans to give me a future and a hope...Jeremiah 29:11. God says in Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you, be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." I cling to the promises that God has given me in His word. Last summer God completely healed and delivered me from the grief of losing my husband. I am doing well. God is a good, faithful, and loving God. Another scripture verse that has helped me through the years is Isaiah 43 where the Lord says, "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name and you are mine. When you walk through the waters, you will not drown. The waves will not sweep over you. When you go through the fires, you will not be burned, the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave up whole nations in exchange for your freedom, because you are precious to me, and honored, and because I love you, so do not be afraid." So many times in Scripture God has told us not to be afraid. Many times He has told us that He will always be with us. He never leaves us or forsakes us. I am thankful every day for His presence in my life.
