Tell Us About Yourself
Raised in a Christian Family, daughter of a part-time pastor. Divorced with 2 adult children. Classically trained Violinist, who focuses on Worship music playing, with a Celtic flavor. I am also a K-5 General Music teacher.
My ex-husband seemed to be a true believer for most of the years of our 22 year marriage. My major crisis of faith came in 1989, when our 3rd child was born prematurely with fatal birth defects. My emotions mirrored those of C.S. Lewis as described in "A Grief Observed", including the question of "If God allowed such a thing to happen to an innocent baby, do I want anything to do with that God?" I spent a year of my life, and my family's life in deep grief and anger with God. He used a change of church styles, and the Holy Week to bring my heart back into submission to His plan, and I chose at that time to re-commit my life to Him, and to HIs service. If I had not travelled that difficult road, and come out of that valley of darkness, I could probably not have survived the heartaches that have come since that time, heartaches with my adult children, and the divorce that further wounded me. However, the solid foundation that the grieving had finally built gave me what I needed to survive those further trials.
