Tell Us About Yourself
I have been a born again Christian for 40 years. I mostly study from the Young's Literal Translation and KJV, but also use the ESV at times. I grew up attending the Free Methodist Church, left that and searched for something different in a church. After visiting other churches and then holding Bible studies at my home with other like-minded Christians for a few years I began attending a Baptist Church. I do not adhere to any particular denomination as a guide, but I do trust the Lord through His Word and in prayer and in fellowship with other Christians. I have spent many years praying for the mission field and those who have gone into it. While I feel I am physically unable to go I do pray. God has heavily placed India on my heart for many months now. I have been in some contact with missionaries in India who say that prayer is the thing they need the most. When I was younger, while a Christian, I had studied Buddhism, Islam, studied the beliefs of the Jehovah's Witnesses. And more recently, I have been studying some Hinduism, while also learning a little about Jainism as well. I read a lot. I have also been studying about Ayurveda, and feel there is a lot it offers as long as you separate the yogic practices from the natural foods, spices and herbs part of it.
