Letter to the Faithful - Stay the course !

Be not deceived for what man accomplishes is but a shadow of God’s hand. For He is Faithful to the Kingdom promises of peace and prosperity but not as man sees it but as His Spirit dictates it. The day is bright but darkness is sure to come. Being of Rightful Wisdom, we ought to repair, reinforce and build the foundations and walls of our temple.

Letter to the Faithful - Faith not fear !

But we who are in Christ must walk in Faith and not in fear! For fear is disobedience and quarrel to the Grace that is in Christ Jesus. Know that you, the Body of Christ are the temple of God and where fear exists neither can Faith exist also. For Faith is onto the light and Glory of God as fear is onto the darkness and death of hell itself.

I. John’s Reason for Writing:
The Incarnation of the Word of Life
(vv 1-4)

1 John 1
1 That which was from the beginning,
which we have heard,
which we have seen with our eyes,
which we have looked upon,
and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it,
and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life,
which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you,
that ye also may have fellowship with us:
and truly our fellowship is with the Father,
and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we unto you,
that your joy may be full.

II. Light and Darkness,
Sin and Forgiveness

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him,
and declare unto you, that God is light,
and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him,
and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

Yes, I Know
1 Come, ye sinners, lost and hopeless,
Jesus’ blood can make you free;
For He saved the worst among you,
When He saved a wretch like me.

And I know, yes, I know
Jesus’ blood can make the vilest sinner clean,
And I know, yes, I know
Jesus’ blood can make the vilest sinner clean.
2 To the faint He giveth power,
Through the mountains makes a way;
Findeth water in the desert,
Turns the night to golden day.
3 In temptation He is near thee,
Holds the pow’rs of hell at bay;
Guides you to the path of safety,
Gives you grace for every day.
4 He will keep thee while the ages
Roll throughout eternity;
Though earth hinders and hell rages,
All must work for good to thee.

1. Vinde todos pecadores a Jesus, o Salvador;
Vinde logo, sem temores, encontrar o Redentor.

Sim, eu sei; (sim eu sei) oh, eu sei (sim eu sei)
Cristo salva o perdido pecador! (oh, sim, eu sei)
Sim, eu sei; (sim eu sei) oh, eu sei (sim eu sei)
Cristo salva o perdido pecador! (oh, sim, eu sei).
2. Dá aos fracos, fortaleza, das montanhas, planos faz.
Ao deserto dá beleza, e aos crentes, luz e paz.
3. Nas fraquezas, ei-Lo perto, dominando a força má.
No caminho, guia certo e Sua graça sempre dá.
4. Quando Cristo vier em glória; a buscar o povo Seu;
cantaremos a história, do amor de Deus, no Céu!

The Mix up of Things.

There was once a family who having a family celebration decided to roast a turkey. In addition, they invited a local authority to share in the meal. Everyone gathered at the table of the offering to receive their due for participating in this event. Upon seeing the sacrifice as it were; the local authority proclaimed, “what a beautiful presentation, but why is there two and not one presentation of the bird”.

Come out of the shadows

Today I was doing a little cleaning of this old stereo system, among other things, and realized that it needs a speaker plugged into it but did not have one at hand.  At this point I set down with some coffee and turned both the computer and television on.  There was this older fellow preaching on the Daystar channel and he was speaking about "Salt and Light" (Matt. 5:13..).  I started to think about how we tend to get involved in our own little enclaves and neglect to be salt and light in the world.  The things relating to the Lord are suppose to come before hobbies and eating.  I started to think on the fact that I, myself, often tend to put things relating to God afterwards instead of before hand.  I often pray at the end of my day instead of at the start.  Sometimes people do not share the gospel with others because they are focused on their own problems.  We all need some fine tuning on these things.

We need to be both light and a salt in this tainted world by sharing the Gospel more and salting the society more.  In the same way that salt enhances the flavor of the food it seasons, the followers of Christ stand out as those who “enhance” the flavor of life in this world. Christians, living under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and in obedience to Christ, will eventually influence the world for what is just and holy, as salt has a positive influence on the flavor of the food it seasons. Where there is strife, we are to be peacemakers; where there is sorrow, we are to be the ministers of Christ, binding up wounds, and where there is hatred, we are to promote the love of Christ. I felt moved to write this today and thanks for reading.

Love comes through

Our lives in this age are full of paradoxes and pains.  We seem to stroll in a land of contrasting light and shadow, but sometimes the light pierces the my quick painting below illustrates. Isaiah 60:1 says, "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you."

I am aware of both regret and grief.  As many reading this, I too suffer from depression.  You are not alone!  Jesus too was well acquainted with persecution and pain, which makes him a perfect savior and our advocate.  Draw closer to God and God will draw closer to you (James 4:8)..  And give God thanks for the good things you have.

I previously posted this on another of my pages near the middle of this month. I have posted it here in addition to editing the post. Please feel free to comment.

It has come to my attention that people do not understand the true nature and manner of sin.

Sin is sin. No thing can EVER change this fact. Sin is like darkness, and God, being light, cannot dwell in the same place as sin. So if you have sin in your life, this sin separates you from God.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5)

It does not matter who you are, where you are from, or what you believe. This is a simple fact. Sin separates us from God. So get rid of the sin.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

Sin equals death, because of the separation from God who is life, therefor sin is death.

Sometimes, you can pray for forgiveness, and be done with sin. But I think it is safe to say that in all situations, to escape sin, you must make a change.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
(Luke 13:3 &5)

Change whatever it is that you are doing that is the sin. Cut it out completely.

For me, my mouth. I cuss sometimes and I know I should not. This is sin. If I disrespect my mother, this is sin. I know these things, and because I know them, if I willingly do these things, I am in sin.

Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. (Psalms 34:13)

Sin is like a blight, and cannot exist in the light that is God. God loves ALL MAN KIND and wants to be with us. So he has told us what is sin, so that we might be able to free our selves from this sin in our lives.

Then he additionally gave us a perfect sacrifice, that we may lay our sin on the alter and 'go and sin no more'. This is what Jesus said to the adulterous woman that was thrown before him when they cried out for judgement and was ready to stone her to death according to Jewish law.

Jesus said, "Let he without sin throw the first stone." They all walked away, from the oldest to the young. Sometimes we youth are unwilling to face our own sin. Older people have been around long enough to know themselves.

Jesus said to the woman, "Woman, where are your accusers?" She answered, "there are none." And Jesus said to her, "Go then, and sin no more." He also forgave her sins. HE has the power to do this, and if we have the faith to except it, our sins can be forgiven. But Jesus says to all of us, "Go and sin no more." Because he and the father want to be reunited with us one day.

"So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:7-12)

I ask, and challenge myself as well, to find the sin in our lives, what it is, why we do it, and stop it. STOP IT! Because this is not what GOD wants for us. God wants good things for his children, but our sin keeps us from HIS blessing.

God Bless you all, and thank you for taking the time to read this.

The Prophecy of the tzit-tzit and Yeshua

In the wonderful Book of Malachi is found an interesting prophecy.  Chapter 4, Verse 2 says--

"but to you that respect my name shall arise the Sun of Righteousness, with healing in his wings".

According to a host of learned men this text refers to the messiah and he would have the ability to bring goodness and healing to anyone that would reach out and touch the fringes of his garment.  The "fringes" are the tzit-tzit or tassels that often hung down on the prayer shawls that were publicly worn by Israelites and latter Jewish men.  The corners had longer tassels and sometimes called "wings".

The messiah Yeshua probably was wearing this sort of outfit when a lady approached him and reached out and touched an edge his clothing and was healed.  This wonderful story is found in Mark 5:25--.  This poor lady had been bleeding for 12 years and when she reached out, in good faith and hope, her condition was immediately healed.  Evidently hundreds of others reached out too and this fulfilled the 450 year old prophecy in Malachi 4:2.

The people were sitting in darkness but saw a Great Light....

The Glory shine of God...Yeshua

"He is the Radiance of the Glory of God......" (Hebrews 1:3)

In a recent blog/essay I indicated that Jesus is the true bread from heaven (John 6:35-51) and the shewbread within the ancient wilderness tabernacle points to him.  I have also indicated several times that the whole wilderness tabernacle and the various furnishings point to various aspects of the later New Covenant and the Messiah Jesus Christ (our High Priest and King).  The New Testament book of Hebrews explains much of this typology.  I felt that I should add, at least, one more blog to this study of types and shadows relating to both the Old Covenant and the New.  This time I wish to point out that "Shekinah Glory" is identified with Jesus: The Light of the World.

The shining and glorious presence of God dwelling within the Holiest part of the Wilderness Tabernacle must have been, at times, an extremely bright and pure white light.  Moses could not even enter the tabernacle tent because of the glory within and at times this extended upward and formed a pillar of fire to guide the people in the Wilderness..(Exodus 40:35).  The glory of the lord was often hidden within the tabernacle, and was situated on the top of the ark, but later the glory of God was tabernacled in the Flesh and lived among us as John 1:14 so indicates.  The messiah was, and is, the true light as John so indicates.  Paul also indicated the same with his own style in Colossians 1:19.  In Christ dwelled the fullness of the Godhead bodily.  And if it were displayed the glorious nature of it would strike fear and awe.  This is what we see in Matthew 17:1-4.  At the scene of the Transfiguration Peter was so awed that he suggested a tabernacle be built for Jesus.  Peter knew of the ancient tabernacle and the Shekinah light.

Of course the ancient system of the Old Covenant has been replaced and if, by some fortunate event, the actual Ark of the Covenant were to be discovered it would only be a great artifact from the past.  No danger would come upon those handling it.  The misfortunes that came upon the Philistines, when they stole the Ark, would not be repeated.
